Topics to be covered at the 2024 summit

Adversaries are outpacing the United States in developing advanced warfighting capabilities. In order to uphold its competitive advantage, the United States is instituting a mandate for the integration of MOSA into the design of intricate warfighting systems.

To expedite innovation and ensure the timely delivery of warfighting systems in alignment with current needs, the United States must consistently design, procure, and maintain next-generation capabilities with efficiency and flexibility, employing architectures characterized by modularity and openness. Topics that will be discussed, include:

  • Acquiring Interoperable and Adaptable Defense Systems that Evolve to Joint Force Mission Needs
  • Testing the Future: DOT&E Insights on MOSA Implementation in Defense Systems
  • Engineering the Future: Advancing Defense Capabilities Through MOSA
  • The Role of Consortiums in Developing and Maintaining Open Standards for Government and Industry Technologies
  • Driving Standardized Approaches to Promote Efficiency, Cost-Effectiveness, and Interoperability across Defense Systems and Technologies

MOSA for Defense Summit 2024: What to expect

Attendees at this year’s event will delve into how the Department of Defense (DoD) is progressing in the implementation of this technical and business strategy to fully realize the benefits of enhanced competition, innovation, interoperability, and cost-effective system design and delivery.

Moreover, the 2024 MOSA for Defense Summit will investigate the integration of MOSA to empower defense capabilities programs to respond more swiftly to evolving threats by facilitating the addition, removal, and replacement of components and subsystems throughout the system’s lifecycle in a more seamless and cost-efficient manner.

This year’s event will showcase panels that explore the role of consortiums in developing and maintaining open standards, the applications of MOSA for Electronic Warfare (EW) and Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems, and how MOSA can propel the design and delivery of both manned and unmanned air platforms.

Attendees are invited to join this year’s MOSA for Defense Summit to engage with senior leaders and contribute to the discourse centered on advancing open systems architectures and approaches throughout the DoD.
