eVTOL aircraft developer Joby Aviation is expanding into North Texas by leasing a 45,000-square-foot facility at the Alliance Air Trade Center in Haslet.

Joby Aviation Secures Fort Worth Base & Expands Texas Footprint

Located within Hillwood’s 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport, the site gives Joby a strategic base to demonstrate commercial air mobility services across the region. Perot Field is the world’s first industrial airport purpose-built for cargo and corporate aviation, acting as a key anchor for the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone—a public-private ecosystem that integrates air and surface mobility technologies.

The move marks the first major presence by an eVTOL manufacturer in North Texas, connecting Joby to the region’s multimodal transport network and skilled workforce as it prepares for operational flights.

Greg Bowles, Joby Aviation’s Chief Policy Officer, said, “I first visited Perot Field two decades ago, and it was clear even back then that this airport would grow into a cornerstone of aviation for the region. Establishing a presence in Texas puts Joby in one of the most exciting markets in the country. This site gives us a base to demonstrate the value of air mobility services across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and the state. Texas is showing strong leadership in advanced air mobility, thanks to partners like Hillwood, TxDOT and NCTCOG, and we look forward to working with them to bring that vision to life as we begin flights under the eIPP program.”

Development and aviation leaders view the lease as a major milestone for integrating next-generation flight into the local transportation network.

Samuel Rhea, Vice President at Hillwood, said, “Welcoming Joby to AllianceTexas reflects our ability to pair flexible real estate solutions with the resources forward-looking companies need to grow. Joby brings an important new capability and demonstrates how AllianceTexas continues to evolve to support aviation, manufacturing and the advanced air mobility sector.”

Christopher Ash, President of Alliance Aviation Companies, added, “Joby’s presence at Perot Field is a significant milestone for the airport and for North Texas aviation. By locating within the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone, Joby helps validate the collaborative work happening here and advances the integration of eVTOL technology across the region’s transportation network.”
