A new strategic collaboration between Eve Air Mobility, Alt Air, and Skyports Infrastructure is set to establish an electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) network in Australia.

The partnership focuses on New South Wales and Queensland, aiming to support the development of a safe, efficient, and sustainable urban air mobility ecosystem. The consortium will co-develop an operational plan covering infrastructure, ground operations, route planning, and airspace integration. This roadmap is designed to bring high-visibility commercial services online in time for the 2032 Brisbane Summer Games.

Based in Sydney, Alt Air will utilize existing aviation assets, including operating bases at Sydney Harbour and Palm Beach, while working with Skyports to identify and develop new vertiport locations. These sites, alongside existing aviation infrastructure, will serve as the backbone for a network intended to link commercial districts, tourism hubs, and major airports. Early concepts include high-demand corridors such as the route between Western Sydney International Airport and downtown Sydney.

Johann Bordais, Chief Executive Officer at Eve Air Mobility, commented, “Through this collaboration, we are laying the foundation for a world-class eVTOL ecosystem in Australia. New South Wales and Queensland present an incredible opportunity to deliver sustainable, quiet, and efficient urban air mobility solutions that will benefit residents, businesses, and international visitors, especially as we look toward the opening of Western Sydney International Airport and the global stage of the Brisbane 2032 Games.”

Skyports Infrastructure will lead the evaluation and development of vertiport locations across key urban and regional corridors, supporting seamless passenger flow and multimodal transport connections. The project aims to showcase Australia’s leadership in advanced air mobility by enhancing connectivity between key Olympic venues, central business districts and the Brisbane, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast Airports.

Aaron Shaw, Managing Director at Alt Air, added, “Our work with Eve Air Mobility and Skyports underscores our shared commitment to building meaningful aviation innovation in Australia. Together, we are designing an eVTOL network that will significantly improve connectivity and set a benchmark for advanced air mobility worldwide.”

The initiative is expected to create a lasting legacy of efficient transportation that extends beyond the 2032 Games. By phasing the commercialization of these services, the partners intend to ensure that safety and sustainability remain at the forefront of the emerging Australian market.

Yun-Yuan Tay, head of Asia-Pacific at Skyports Infrastructure, stated, “We see Australia as a key future market for AAM and have enjoyed strong stakeholder engagement and enthusiasm across the country. We’re excited to apply our real-world vertiport experience and enable the next era of flight in Australia. South East Queensland is one of the most attractive markets for AAM to launch in Australia and the Brisbane 2032 Games will be a strong catalyst to enable a safe, efficient and legacy network that will extend well beyond the Games.”
