The Netherlands Vehicle Authority has officially recognized PAL-V as a certified automotive manufacturer following the successful completion of its Initial Assessment.

This milestone, granted by the RDW, signifies that the company has documented and implemented the necessary quality controls and procedures required under European Conformity of Production standards. As the global leader in FlyDrive mobility, PAL-V is now authorized to produce type-certified, road-legal vehicles at its manufacturing facility in the Netherlands in accordance with European automotive regulations.

The approval serves as a foundational requirement for the company’s unique platform, which integrates air and road travel to provide door-to-door mobility. While this specific assessment focuses on road legality, it also serves as a critical building block for the company to obtain Production Organisation Approval for the aviation sector.

Mike van den Broek, COO at PAL-V, said, “We are proud to pass this important milestone. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to the highest standards in quality, safety, and production integrity. It brings us another step closer to delivering our FlyDrive vehicles to customers worldwide.”

By pioneering a manufacturing approach that simultaneously meets the stringent certification requirements of both the automotive and aviation industries, PAL-V has attracted interest beyond private buyers. Professional and government sectors are increasingly looking toward the PAL-V Liberty for its operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Unlike human-transporting drones, this technology allows pilots and passengers to transition seamlessly between driving and flying.
