Vertical Aerospace has announced that its next-generation electric aircraft, Valo, will be on public display at the Bass Museum in Collins Park on February 24 and 25.

The zero-emissions aircraft is designed to carry four passengers on journeys up to 100 miles at speeds of 150 mph. Featuring panoramic windows and dedicated space for luggage and pets, the Valo is being developed to offer a quieter and more efficient alternative to traditional ground transportation. In addition to the fully electric model, the company is developing a hybrid-electric variant with a targeted range of up to 1,000 miles.

The display in Miami Beach coincides with the iConnections event and serves as a showcase for how advanced air mobility (AAM) could reshape travel across South Florida. Vertical is currently collaborating with infrastructure and operating partners to explore a regional network that could significantly reduce travel times between major hubs. Proposed routes include a 36-minute flight between Miami and Palm Beach, a journey that typically takes over 90 minutes by car, and a 13-minute link between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

Daniella Levine Cava, Miami-Dade County Mayor, said, “I am thrilled about Vertical Aerospace’s plans to make Miami-Dade County one of the first areas in the country with advanced air mobility. This development moves our community closer to the future of air travel, enhanced connectivity, and new economic opportunities for Miami-Dade County. MIA and our general aviation airports are some of the busiest airports in the country for private aviation, which makes Miami-Dade County the perfect launch site for AAM.”

The company is working with several infrastructure leaders to evaluate the development of vertiports and landing zones. These partners include a joint venture between UrbanV and Signature Aviation, Skyports Infrastructure, and Vertiports by Atlantic Aviation. By utilizing existing aviation hubs such as Opa Locka and Watson Island, the network aims to provide direct access to business districts, cruise terminals, and waterfront locations.

Stuart Simpson, CEO at Vertical Aerospace, commented, “Valo offers a new way to experience Miami – turning time lost in traffic into time gained. Imagine landing near Fort Lauderdale and reaching your tee time without touching I-95. Leaving Miami for Palm Beach after lunch and being back for sunset. Or taking a quiet electric flight over Biscayne Bay as the skyline turns gold. As electric aviation moves closer to commercialisation, we are working with our customers and operating partners to deliver real-world connections that are faster, cleaner and designed around the passenger.”

As a major global aviation gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, Miami represents a strategic market for future electric flight operations. The public display will be open at the Bass Museum from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on February 24, and until 6:30 PM on February 25.
