UrbanV and Pax Aeroportos have entered into a formal agreement to develop and integrate vertiport infrastructure at two of Brazil’s most significant urban airports.
The collaboration focuses on Campo de Marte in São Paulo and Jacarepaguá in Rio de Janeiro, positioning these sites as primary gateway nodes for the country’s emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) sector. By combining UrbanV’s expertise in vertiport design with Pax Aeroportos’ operational footprint, the partnership seeks to establish a scalable network for next-generation aviation. This initiative builds upon an existing regulatory sandbox at Campo de Marte, conducted in cooperation with Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency.
In São Paulo, Campo de Marte is slated to serve as a central hub for the metropolitan area. The facility will utilize its hangar capacity to facilitate connections between high-demand districts such as Faria Lima, Alphaville, and Campinas, as well as the city’s main international airports. Similarly, Jacarepaguá will act as a critical access point for Western Rio de Janeiro, enabling future flight paths to Copacabana, Niterói, and regional transport hubs while leveraging its current role in the executive helicopter ecosystem.

Ivan Bassato, Chairman of UrbanV, stated, “This agreement strengthens our presence in one of the most strategic markets for Advanced Air Mobility. Together with Pax Aeroportos, we are building the foundations for future air mobility networks in Brazil, starting from airports that already play a central role in urban aviation.”

The project reflects a long-term strategy to modernize urban aviation by utilizing existing infrastructure to support electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations. As a concessionaire and operator of strategic urban airports, Pax Aeroportos views the integration of these solutions as a logical progression for the Brazilian aviation market.
Rogerio Augusto Prado, CEO of Pax, commented, “Operating two of Brazil’s most strategic urban airports, we see Advanced Air Mobility as a natural evolution of urban aviation. This partnership with UrbanV allows us to build on our strong presence in Brazil while exploring new opportunities to integrate next-generation air mobility solutions into our airports and the cities they serve.”
The roadmap established by the two companies emphasizes the creation of network concepts that link key business and regional destinations, providing a framework for the future of urban transport in Brazil’s largest cities.
