The Government of the Republic of Serbia has established a formal partnership with Archer Aviation to drive the adoption of electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft across the European region.

Signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the agreement designates Archer as the country’s preferred eVTOL partner. The Republic of Serbia has secured the option to purchase an initial fleet of up to 25 Midnight aircraft, subject to the applicable legal framework. This move positions the nation alongside several other international markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, Japan, and Korea, which have also entered into public-private partnerships with the manufacturer.

A primary focus of the collaboration is the upcoming EXPO 2027 Belgrade. As the official air taxi partner for the event, which runs from May through August 2027, Archer’s technology will serve as a centerpiece for next-generation transportation. Serbian officials intend to use the global platform to demonstrate the practical benefits of advanced air mobility to millions of visitors from over 130 countries.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali, said, “When we were given the opportunity to host such a significant event as Belgrade Expo 2027, we knew that we wanted to take a step forward when it comes to new technologies, technological innovations, artificial intelligence and more. That is why it was important for us to bring the first air taxis to Belgrade, and we look forward to fulfilling that promise.”

The partnership extends beyond aircraft deployment into industrial development. Archer and the Serbian government have entered a strategic dialogue to explore domestic industrialization opportunities, specifically regarding rare earth magnets and critical minerals essential for battery production. This initiative aligns with Serbia’s broader infrastructure investment strategy following its selection to host the EXPO.

Adam Goldstein, Founder and CEO of Archer Aviation, added, “I met the President of Serbia last year at the World Economic Forum where we immediately connected over a shared vision for the future of transportation. The Republic of Serbia presents another demand signal for eVTOL aircraft, and another opportunity to deploy our aircraft and build operational expertise.”

Archer is currently progressing through its Midnight flight test program and certification activities. The company continues to scale its international footprint as it prepares for initial commercial operations in multiple global markets.
