Archer Aviation has revealed plans to establish a comprehensive electric air taxi network across the Miami metropolitan area, designed to connect key business and population centers while significantly reducing travel times.
The proposed network aims to link Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach, utilizing electric aviation to bypass ground-based traffic. The service is intended to provide efficient connections between the region’s three primary international airports, Miami International Airport (MIA), Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL), and Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), as well as various strategic general aviation airports.
The operations will rely on Archer’s Midnight aircraft, a piloted eVTOL vehicle. Designed to carry four passengers, the aircraft is engineered for rapid back-to-back trips with minimal charging time required between flights. According to Archer, the Midnight aircraft can replace standard 60-to-90-minute car commutes with 10-to-20-minute electric flights that are low-noise, safe, and cost-competitive with traditional ground transportation.
To facilitate the necessary ground infrastructure, Archer is collaborating with several real estate and infrastructure partners to develop new vertiports and adapt existing facilities. Related Ross plans to partner with Archer to develop a vertiport within its downtown West Palm Beach development, intended to serve as a premium mobility hub in the commercial center. Additionally, Dragon Global’s Magic City Innovation District in Miami’s Little Haiti plans to develop a vertiport site to integrate air taxis into its mixed-use technology community.
Existing infrastructure will also be utilized to expand the network’s reach. Hard Rock Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins and the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, and the Apogee Golf Club in Hobe Sound plan to ready their existing helipads for electric operations.

Stephen Ross, CEO and Chairman of Related Ross and Owner of the Miami Dolphins, said, “Our partnership with Archer marks a pivotal step in expanding South Florida’s regional connectivity through cutting-edge technology. We are integrating Archer’s electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft into our flagship locations across South Florida, including the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Related Ross developments in West Palm Beach, and Apogee Club in Hobe Sound. We’re excited to embrace a forward-thinking vision that transforms how people and businesses move across the region.”
Jordan Rathlev, Executive Vice President of Related Ross, said, “This innovative approach not only supports sustainable urban transportation, but also positions South Florida at the forefront of pioneering advanced mobility solutions for the future.”
Bob Zangrillo, Founder of Dragon Global and a partner in the Magic City Innovation District, added, “The Magic City Innovation District was designed as a next-generation hub for technology, culture, and mobility.
“Plaza Equity Partners, the project’s developer, is driving that vision forward by partnering with Archer to integrate an entirely new layer of transportation – an air mobility network that connects our district with the broader region and advances a multimodal, future-ready transportation ecosystem for South Florida.”
Francis Suarez, Mayor of Miami, commented, “Miami has never been afraid to bet on the future. We’re a city that attracts visionaries, embraces breakthrough technology, and turns bold ideas into real impact. For years, I’ve worked with Archer as they’ve advanced a vision for an air-taxi network that will elevate Miami’s position as a global capital for innovation and mobility. What they’re building isn’t just transformational transportation, it embodies the Miami mindset: we lead, we innovate, and we redefine what’s possible.”
