Vertical Aerospace and Bristow Group are partnering to accelerate the global adoption of eVTOL aircraft through a turnkey operational model that enables customers to deploy air taxi services with minimal upfront investment.

The partnership centers around a comprehensive “ready to fly” service built on proven regional airline models, offering certified aircraft, trained pilots, maintenance, and insurance under one operational umbrella. This solution is designed to eliminate the need for customers to develop their own infrastructure, allowing them to concentrate on customer-facing activities such as sales, service, and network integration while Vertical and Bristow manage the complexities of flight operations.
As part of the agreement, Bristow has placed a pre-order for up to 50 VX4 aircraft with an option for 50 more, reinforcing its confidence in the aircraft’s commercial potential, certification trajectory, and development timeline. The partnership builds on Bristow’s extensive global footprint, including multiple Air Operator Certificates and a robust MRO network, which will support a range of operational needs for Vertical’s current and future customers. These customers span commercial airlines, logistics operators, and emergency response providers, sectors where Bristow has over 70 years of experience delivering critical vertical flight missions.
Chris Bradshaw, President and CEO of Bristow Group, said, “We are excited about expanding our relationship with Vertical and helping move the future of advanced air mobility forward. Bristow has over 75 years of providing critical safety, operational, certification, and logistics expertise, and this agreement outlines a framework to help scale these new aircraft globally, offering customers a seamless path from concept to revenue.”
Stuart Simpson, CEO of Vertical Aerospace, stated, “This strategic partnership is about execution and mirrors what already successfully works in aviation today. It will lower barriers to market entry and accelerate the adoption of eVTOL services worldwide. Together, we’re making it easy for customers to adopt electric flight, allowing them to focus on what they are best at – customer service, loyalty and sales.”
The collaboration also includes integration of safety management systems and the use of the VX4’s digital architecture to support predictive maintenance, enhanced fleet reliability, and real time data analytics. In addition, the companies are exploring joint Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul initiatives such as battery swapping and mobile field service capabilities to ensure operational resilience and efficiency.
This agreement marks a significant milestone in Vertical Aerospace’s Flightpath 2030 strategy, which outlines the company’s plan to establish a globally scalable, certified eVTOL ecosystem. It follows the successful completion of the first wingborne flight of a winged eVTOL in European open airspace, a pivotal achievement that underscores regulatory momentum and the maturity of the VX4 platform.
