Archer has struck a new strategic agreement with PT IKN to introduce its Midnight eVTOL aircraft to Indonesia.

This move marks Indonesia as the third international market, following the United Arab Emirates and Ethiopia, where Archer plans to launch early commercial operations under its Launch Edition program.

The partnership supports Archer’s broader objective of accelerating the global adoption of advanced air mobility solutions by deploying a repeatable framework for early market entry ahead of full type certification in the United States.

PT IKN is an Indonesian organization focused on enhancing national resilience through strategic innovation in infrastructure, manufacturing and sustainable technologies. By collaborating with Archer, the company aims to strengthen domestic capabilities and foster long-term development through the integration of cutting-edge aerospace systems. The agreement outlines plans for an initial fleet of Midnight aircraft to be deployed in the country, supported by Archer personnel including pilots, engineers and technicians.

Yudiansah Yosal, PT IKN’s Chairman said, “At PT IKN we see enormous benefit in bringing new technologies to Indonesia. Deploying Archer’s Midnight aircraft, not only for passenger mobility throughout our many islands but also for environmental oversight use cases. We’re excited to bring this innovation to Indonesia and to work together with Archer to build a sustainable and scalable air mobility ecosystem.”

Major General TNI Piek Budyakto Pangdam IX / Udayana said, “eVTOL aircraft like Archer’s Midnight offer capabilities for both civilian and military use cases. In the civilian sector, these aircraft can potentially be used for transportation, rescue and various other purposes such as delivery of goods and air taxi transport. The partnership between Archer and PT. IKN is in line with our vision to work towards a more adaptive and modern military infrastructure that embraces innovative technologies.”

Archer Founder and CEO Adam Goldstein added, “The level of demand for our ‘Launch Edition’ program continues to grow. Indonesia represents a tremendous opportunity for our Midnight aircraft both in the near and long-term, with thousands of islands, a booming tourism sector and the development of a new capital city, Ibu Kota Nusantara. We look forward to working together to demonstrate how Midnight can support missions in the country.”

The scope of the collaboration also includes integration of Archer’s proprietary operational software and passenger booking applications to facilitate flight services during the program. Both parties will work closely with Indonesia’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation to support regulatory development and infrastructure improvements necessary for the safe and scalable introduction of electric air taxi services.

PT IKN is expected to order up to 50 Midnight aircraft, representing a potential value of up to $250 million, with the goal of commercializing operations and expanding within the Indonesian market following successful initial deployment.
