Archer Aviation has been selected as the Official Air Taxi Provider for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games and Team USA.

The partnership will showcase Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft across Los Angeles, demonstrating the transformative potential of urban air mobility during one of the world’s most high-profile events.

The LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games are expected to draw more than 15 million visitors and a global television audience of billions. Through this collaboration, Archer and LA28 aim to seamlessly integrate electric air taxis into the city’s transportation ecosystem, offering fast, low-noise, zero-emission aerial mobility for VIPs, fans, and key stakeholders, while supporting emergency response and venue security.

Archer’s Midnight eVTOL aircraft will play a central role in the urban mobility plan for the Games. Designed for rapid, short-haul urban flights, Midnight can carry up to four passengers plus a pilot, with flights typically lasting 10 to 20 minutes. The aircraft features 12 electric motors and propellers in a distributed, redundant configuration, supporting Archer’s goal of achieving FAA certification to safety standards comparable to those of commercial airliners.

Adam Goldstein, CEO and Founder of Archer Aviation, said, “We want to transform the way people get around Los Angeles and leave a legacy that shapes the future of transportation in America. There’s no better time to do that than during the LA28 Games. I can’t wait to see Midnight flying passengers over Los Angeles, emblazoned with the Team USA logo and the Olympic Rings and Paralympic Agitos.”

LA28 Chairperson and President Casey Wasserman, added, “At LA28, we’re building a platform for constant innovation and creativity, which is why we’ve partnered with forward-thinking companies like Archer. Our vision is to fundamentally reimagine the Olympic and Paralympic Games experience, and this partnership represents an incredible opportunity to deliver something unprecedented, showcasing the very best of what Los Angeles has to offer on the world stage.”

Manufactured in the United States at facilities in San Jose, California, and Covington, Georgia, Midnight is engineered for reliability, sustainability, and minimal acoustic footprint, making it ideally suited for dense urban environments like Los Angeles.

Archer’s planned air mobility network will include a series of strategically located vertiports across the Los Angeles metropolitan area, linking key LA28 venues and transportation hubs. Confirmed locations include:

  • SoFi Stadium in Inglewood
  • Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Hollywood
  • Santa Monica
  • Orange County

The goal is to provide a seamless experience for passengers—residents and visitors alike—who can travel quickly between vertiports and major destinations, bypassing ground traffic congestion and reducing travel times dramatically during the Games.

In addition to providing advanced mobility services, Archer’s partnership with LA28 includes direct support for Team USA. The agreement also opens access to storytelling and brand integration opportunities throughout NBCUniversal’s coverage of the 2026 and 2028 Olympic Games. Archer will be featured in key broadcast moments, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2028 Games, helping to elevate public awareness of eVTOL technology and its real-world applications.
