RECARO Aircraft Seating (RECARO) debuted its seating solution for eVTOL aircraft at the 2025 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg.

RECARO showcased its innovative seating solution in collaboration with Eve Air Mobility, an Embraer spin-off. Designed with lightweight materials—including high-grade aluminum, titanium, and composites—the seat reduces overall weight to support more energy-efficient flight operations.

Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve, commented, “Eve Air Mobility and RECARO combined their expertise to develop lightweight, ergonomic seating that can support the distinct needs of eVTOL flights. The urban air mobility industry introduces a new range of engineering challenges, including seating.

“This means aligning with partners who embrace reengineering aircraft from the ground up. Through our collaboration with RECARO, we’ve found new and inventive ways to make aircraft seating light enough for electric urban flights without sacrificing the in-cabin experience.”

Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding, added, “The success of a project like this is only possible when there is a strong collaboration, just as there is between RECARO and Eve Air Mobility. Seating for eVTOL aircraft fits perfectly with the capabilities and strengths of RECARO when it comes to lightweight design, superior quality, and outstanding ergonomics. This marks a very exciting moment at AIX 2025.”
