LIFT Aircraft has conducted a pioneering flight demonstration of its HEXA eVTOL at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, Japan.

The event drew global attention as the HEXA took off from the purpose-built “EXPO Vertiport,” situated within the Smart Mobility Expo zone — a hub designed to highlight next-generation transportation technologies to an international audience.

This high-profile demonstration was made possible through a strategic collaboration with Marubeni Corporation and its subsidiary, Marubeni Aerospace. Both LIFT Aircraft Founder and CEO Matthew Chasen and Marubeni Chief Strategy Officer Tomomichi Mizuno were present for the landmark event, which was featured as part of the Expo’s prestigious “Future Society Showcase Project Exhibition.”

In addition to thanking Marubeni during remarks in the opening ceremony, Chasen praised, “The Expo committee, Osaka Prefecture, Osaka City, and JCAB for their vision in constructing this and other vertiports around Osaka – some of the first in the world – and for allowing us to demonstrate HEXA here at Expo.”

Chasen added, “We’re bringing the future of personal air transportation to life for Expo attendees.”

More than just a technical display, the flight served as a compelling example of how eVTOL aircraft are poised to reshape personal and urban transportation. It also emphasized the growing importance of public engagement and acceptance in the rollout of AAM technologies.

Throughout the duration of Expo 2025, LIFT will continue to conduct flight demonstrations and offer an immersive experience to visitors via full-motion VR flight simulators. These simulators give attendees the chance to virtually pilot the HEXA aircraft, offering a glimpse into the future of on-demand, personally operated air mobility.

The Expo appearance comes as LIFT prepares to launch public flight operations in Osaka this summer, inviting individuals to not only ride in HEXA, but train to become pilots themselves. This initiative represents a leap forward in democratizing access to flight and accelerating the adoption of sustainable, decentralized aviation.

By showcasing the HEXA at one of the world’s most influential global exhibitions, LIFT Aircraft reinforces its leadership in the emerging AAM ecosystem and brings its vision of accessible personal flight closer to reality.
