The Advanced Air Mobility Institute has appointed Jim Ives as Executive Vice President of its Board of Directors, leveraging his extensive experience in aviation operations, eVTOL certification, and aerospace manufacturing.

Ives is expected to play a key role in advancing the AAM Institute’s mission of education and advocacy for the public benefit.
Ives currently serves as a senior executive at Alakai Technologies Corporation, where he has been instrumental in pioneering hydrogen-powered eVTOL technology. His leadership has advanced research, FAA compliance, and engineering initiatives.
In his previous role, as Vice President of Education at the National Aviation Academy, he expanded workforce development and aviation training. At Skyplan Services Limited, he facilitated aviation technology integration with international regulatory frameworks.
In addition to his industry expertise, Ives actively advocates for education and workforce development. His efforts have expanded opportunities for future aerospace professionals, and his ability to integrate aviation technology with real-time data analytics has improved operational efficiency and safety.
As Executive Vice President, Ives joins a group dedicated to research, policy, and education in AAM. The Institute expects he will contribute to its vision of building a sustainable and integrated air mobility ecosystem.
