Skyfly Technologies has closed its latest round of funding to expand its engineering team and develop a new production-ready powertrain and hybrid system for the Axe eVTOL.

The new funding will enable Skyfly to develop and implement new technologies for its future aircraft. This will include upgraded batteries, motors, and speed controllers, as well as development of the hybrid powertrain, which Skyfly anticipates will benefit both civilian and military users.

The funding follows the successful start of the company’s piloted flight test program for its Axe eVTOL in 2024. Skyfly reportedly expects to announce the recruitment of top electric aerospace engineering talent in the coming weeks.

Michael Thompson, CEO at Skyfly, commented, “We are delighted to receive follow-on support from existing investors and welcome some fantastic new investors to the Skyfly team. We will be announcing some new hires who are pioneers in electric aviation to complement an already incredibly capable team.”
