Skyway, a California-based company specializing in vertiport development and operations, has joined forces with MatrixSpace, an innovator in AI-driven sensing solutions, to enhance air traffic management and unmanned aircraft detection.

This strategic alliance is set to transform the future of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and unmanned aerial systems (UAS), introducing unparalleled advancements in safety, operational efficiency, and scalability.

Skyway delivers critical infrastructure and airspace management solutions to eVTOL manufacturers, airline operators, and commercial developers. Partnering with MatrixSpace allows Skyway to extend its current capabilities by incorporating MatrixSpace Radar’s AI-powered sensing technology.

This integration significantly enhances real-time situational awareness in upcoming deployments. MatrixSpace’s radar technology offers precise detection, classification, and visualization of aerial and ground-based objects, enabling Skyway’s command center to swiftly address operational challenges.

Clifford Cruz, CEO at Skyway, said, “Our partnership with MatrixSpace is a game-changer for vertiport operations, bringing an advanced level of detection no one else could provide.

“Integrating their intelligent radar technology with our vertiport infrastructure will ensure safer, more reliable, and scalable operations for AAM, addressing critical needs in the aerospace and urban air mobility industries.”

As urban air mobility expands, robust air traffic management becomes essential. MatrixSpace’s state-of-the-art radar technology, equipped with object detection, telemetry capture, and synchronized mesh networking, empowers Skyway to oversee vertiports with unmatched precision. Supporting Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, this capability is fundamental for optimizing eVTOL flights and drone deployments across commercial, public safety, and defense sectors. These innovations reinforce the collaboration’s role in defining the next era of AAM, delivering scalable solutions with a strong emphasis on safety and operational integrity.

Lori DeMatteis, Chief Revenue Officer at MatrixSpace, added, “This partnership is pivotal for accelerating innovations in aerospace navigation and ensuring seamless integration across the AAM ecosystem. MatrixSpace’s collaboration with Skyway will bring next-generation sensing technology to vertiport operations.

“Our solutions are designed to provide unparalleled situational awareness, ease and flexibility and together, we’re creating a foundation for the safe and scalable future of air mobility.”

Combining Skyway’s expertise in vertiport development with MatrixSpace’s intelligent radar technology, this partnership directly addresses major challenges in airspace coordination and security. Advanced radar capabilities bolster drone detection while mitigating risks associated with unmanned aircraft. Real-time traffic monitoring reduces collision hazards and ensures regulatory compliance. Streamlined coordination between vertiports and aerial assets optimizes routing and scheduling, cementing this collaboration as a transformative force in next-generation aerospace innovation.
