The Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has released the updated RPAS and AAM Strategic Regulatory Roadmap.

This comprehensive roadmap outlines Australia’s approach to safely integrate advanced aviation technologies into our airspace and future regulatory program.

Key updates include:

  • Clearer regulatory timeframes to guide industry growth and innovation.
  • New activities to review pathways for large RPAS and R&D operations.
  • Enhanced collaboration to align with global standards and address challenges such as airspace management and infrastructure development.

The new digital format provides quicker and easier ways explore the roadmap online. Users can search for initiatives using keywords or apply filters to refine their results, making it easier to find information about the roadmap activities. A timeline view is also available, presenting all roadmap initiatives in a visually engaging and easy-to-read format. The roadmap is responsive, providing an optimised experience on both mobile and tablet devices.

First released in 2022, the updated Roadmap has been shaped by extensive industry engagement to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of advanced aviation in Australia since its release.
