The Advanced Air Mobility Institute Senior Advisor, Dean Rudolph, has achieved a rare and prestigious designation from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Dean Rudolph has been awarded extended delegation as an FAA Designated Airworthiness Representative – Manufacturing (DAR-F), granting him one of only three such delegations currently authorized to certify all categories of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Optionally Piloted Aircraft (OPA).
Following an extensive evaluation by an FAA Technical Review Board, the expanded FAA delegation will grant Rudolph the authority to issue Special and Standard Airworthiness Certificates across the full UAS and OPA spectrum, covering 12 FAA Function Codes (70-81).
This achievement reflects his extensive expertise in advanced air mobility and is expected to benefit the AAM Institute’s mission to support the development and safe integration of innovative aviation technologies.
Dean Rudolph explained; “This additional delegation allows me to even better serve the Institute and the industry at large by direct application of the regulatory guidance to help drive understanding and implementation.
“The FAA efforts towards delegation in this space will help speed the process for applicants while not compromising safety or airworthiness in any way.”
Dan Sloat, Institute Founder and President, added; “Dean’s expertise is invaluable to the AAM Institute.
“His unique FAA designation enhances our ability to provide industry leaders with critical insights and guidance as we collectively shape the future of aviation.”
Dean’s FAA designation amplifies his impact at both the AAM Institute and Collinear Group, where he serves as AAM Practice Lead, while advancing the broader innovations within the field of air mobility. His deep industry knowledge ensures that the Institute will remain at the forefront of fostering cutting-edge UAS and OPA solutions.
