EHang will present its latest model of an electric-passenger-grade autonomous drone at the tenth edition of Dronitaly.

Dronitaly organized by BolognaFiere Water & Energy (BFWE), is an event that is a reference point for civil drones for professional use.

This year Dronitaly, scheduled from 9-11 October, 2024, will include an additional section called “Innovative Air Mobility & Delivery” dedicated to passenger transport and cargo, alongside the section dedicated to “Aerial Operations”, which encompasses all the activities associated with the use of drones, such as inspections, site inspections, security, search, rescue, and environmental monitoring.

In a future that is increasingly closer, Advanced Air Mobility will transform the way we live in cities. Electric passenger drones will become air taxis for complex destinations and means of transport for tourists who will be able to admire art cities, lagoons and natural parks from the sky. AAMs will also be indispensable, fast and economical air vehicles for rescue missions and organ transport.

At the forefront in this business is EHang, a leading technology platform company in the area of urban air mobility (UAM), which developed the two-seater electric drone EH216 in 2014.

EHang was the first to obtain certification for an unmanned eVTOL ahead of every other country, America and Europe included, receiving the green light for flying the EH216-S from the Chinese aviation authority – the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

Paolo Angelini, CEO of BFWE, BolognaFiere Water & Energy, said; “We are particularly glad that EHang has chosen Italy to launch the air mobility of the future in the Mediterranean area and we are proud that this will be done at Dronitaly, which has been in the forefront in Italy since 2014 for the drone sector.”

Furthermore, this year, following the major technological and regulatory developments underway, BFWE has decided to launch a new dissemination format, the ConventionHUB, a special area of 400 m2 open on four sides, designed by the well-known architect Giancarlo Zema, Guest Designer and Art Director of Dronitaly.

This area includes a conference room and facilities for B2B meetings with stakeholders, an area for the exhibition of a selection of the best products, a cafeteria, and it will feature the presence of the EHang216-S electric-passenger-grade autonomous drone.

As a sounding board, Dronitaly will take place in conjunction with another two events, Fueling Tomorrow (on the transformation of fuels and the use of new energy carriers in the transport and industrial sectors, with a view to the ecological transition), SAIE (construction sector), and Asphaltica (road construction). These are events that will attract an audience potentially interested also in the use of remotely controlled vehicles for their activities.
