The Advanced Air Mobility Institute (AAMI) has signed a LoI with Greenport International Airport (GIA) and Technology Center to secure a 10,000-square office building.
Alongside the office, in Austin, Texas, the agreement includes a full acre of land to engage in field research and integration testing with strategic partners.
Under the LoI, the AAMI will lease land and a building on the GIA campus for educating and advocating for the broadest public benefit through the advanced air mobility ecosystem globally.
Dan Sloat, Founder and President of AAMI, said: “Austin has established itself as a hotbed of tech innovation, so it makes for an ideal site for the global headquarters of our non-profit research center.”
He added: “We are grateful for the visionary leadership of Stephen Carpenter and the team at Greenport International Airport, as well as Jeffrey DeCoux, Chairman of the Autonomy Institute. We look forward to realizing the vision of making advanced air mobility a safe, quick, affordable, and sustainable mode of transportation for everyone through research and innovation at GIA.”
