Kookiejar Partners with AirQual for Emergency Dispatch in Vertiports

Kookiejar of Sweden and AirQual Technologies, SIA, have signed an agreement to develop an emergency and dispatching system for the Kookiejar Vertiport Operations Management Center.

Airqual has developed a platform, AWARENET, that can manage first responders, technical resources and other stakeholders during incidents or other events. When an event occurs, the system enables resources to receive/send time critical information, shortens response times and manages the event in a quicker, more efficient way.

The plan is that Airqual, together with Kookiejar, will develop the system for the Kookiejar Vertiport Operations Center. A first demonstrator is planned to be presented during the Dubai Airshow, November 2023, at the vertiport site in Al Maktoum Airport.

“Airqual has a proven technology used at airports and air traffic control towers worldwide that is unique to the market. Autonomous operations can only be achieved with a state-of-the-art system to manage events and dispatch resources,” said Kookiejar founder Kim Silander.

“We are happy to work with Kookiejar of Sweden. Their vision for managing vertiport operations absolutely fits with ours,” commented Maksims Dmitrijevs, Airqual.

“We plan to establish a number of Vertiport Operations Centres as we grow and we are currently assessing different locations. We hope that by early 2024 we will be able to announce where our first center will be built,” Silander added.
