Abu Dhabi-based Terminals Holding and Kookiejar of Sweden have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in building and operating transformational, sustainable vertiports in emerging markets.
The companies signed the agreement during the The Future of Air Transportation in Mauritania conference in Nouakchott, March 2023.
The event was attended by Mauritanian government ministers and representatives along with Airport Council International (ACI) Africa, The International Air Transport Association (IATA), and several Air Traffic and Airport stakeholders.
“We are a green tech company enabling sustainable air mobility and we have already secured pilots in Europe and UAE with ongoing talks in the US. With this agreement we have the potential to expand our network into Abu Dhabi and other emerging markets that need our solutions, with Terminals Holding as an operator. This is a huge step in expanding our market reach,” said Kookiejar Founder and Chairman Kim Silander.
“We are eager to study the opportunities that vertiport operations and Advanced Air Mobility offers. With this cooperation, we as an airport operator and ground handler can expand our services within the communities where we already operate and in line with our sustainability and green energy goals,” added Terminals Holding, the holding company of Afroport Mauritanie.
